Terms & Conditions


1. Appointments & Cancellations

  • Appointments are confirmed once a deposit (if required) is paid or once you receive an appointment confirmation.
  • We ask for at least 72 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you provide less than this, you may incur a cancellation fee of $50.
  • “No‑shows” (clients who fail to attend and give no notice) may be charged the full cost of the scheduled service.
  • If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled and may incur a late‑cancel / no‑show fee.

2. Pricing & Service Variations

  • All quoted prices are based on standard hair length, thickness and density. Longer, thicker or more complex hair types may incur additional cost. (As HR HAIR STUDIO indicates: “prices may vary depending on hair length, texture, density and thickness”.)
  • We reserve the right to adjust pricing due to product cost changes or service scope changes.
  • For services requiring multiple sessions (e.g., dramatic colour change, colour correction), the quoted cost is an estimate and may change after consultation.

3. Product Sales / Retail Items

  • Retail hair‑care or styling products purchased may be returned or exchanged only if in original, unused condition, and within [14] days of purchase (unless defective).
  • Sale, clearance or customised items are usually not eligible for refund.
  • If a product OR Service is delivered to you, you must notify us of damage or defect within [24] hours.

4. Health & Safety / Pre‑Service Consultation

  • For chemical services (colouring, bleaching, keratin, perms etc.), a consultation and patch/strand test may be required.
  • Clients must disclose any relevant health conditions, skin sensitivities, allergies or medications that may affect treatment.
  • We reserve the right to refuse to perform a service if we believe it poses a risk to the client or the integrity of the hair.
  • We use professional products (e.g., HR HAIR STUDIO uses L’Oréal Professional) and maintain hygiene standards throughout.

5. Satisfaction Guarantee / Follow‑Up

  • If you are unhappy with a result, please contact us within 2 days to discuss a complimentary adjustment, subject to our policy.
  • Complimentary follow‑ups do not apply if the service has been altered externally or if contamination (hair‐care product misuse) has occurred.
  • Colour/melanin treatments can change over time; we advise proper aftercare and product use.

6. Liability Limitation

  • While we endeavour to deliver safe and quality services, we cannot guarantee results beyond our control (e.g., hair condition, external products used by client).
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damage (such as lost time, travel, or inconvenience) arising from services.
  • These limitations do not affect your rights under New Zealand consumer law.

7. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due at the time of service completion (or deposit up front). We accept Cash, Debit & Credit Card, Eftpos
  • If a deposit is paid and the appointment is cancelled by the client with adequate notice, the deposit may be refunded or applied to a rescheduled booking at our discretion.
  • We may require full payment in advance for high‑value or customised services.

8. Gift Vouchers / Packages

  • Gift vouchers or special packages are redeemable only for the specific services listed, and may expire after [12]months unless otherwise stated.
  • Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or combined with other offers unless permitted by us.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
  • Any disputes should in the first instance be raised with us. If unresolved, you may pursue resolution via the relevant consumer dispute mechanism in New Zealand.

10. Changes to Policy

  • We reserve the right to modify this Client Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted in‑salon and/or on our website. Continued booking or service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
